1.8 KW Planar Power Transformer is the latest in a new series of planar
magnetic components from Planar Magnetics Limited
Planar Magentics Ltd., designers and manufacturers of planar technology
transformers and inductors have introduced the 64 series - the first in
a wide ranging new family of Planar power transformers and inductors.
The 64 series, with power ratings from 1kW to 3.5 kW offers a highly efficient
thermal resistance between winding and mounting base. This results in
higher power density and cooler operation. Winding Voltages are up to
700V; winding current up to 150A and switching frequency 50kHz to 250
kHz. The series is suitable for a wide range of applications including
off-line. All materials are UL approved for class F operation. Options
include electrostatic screening and customer terminations. The significant
benefits of planar magnetic technology are several; - low leakage inductance
and lower winding resistance are realized and a high consistency between
components is assured. The mechanical benefits also contribute to the
development of more efficient power converter products, The low profile
of planar magnetic components opens up new design opportunities In many
power circuits applications. They are better suited to heatsink mounted
and high current connections are easier to make. Planar Magnetics Ltd
operate a R&D facility and manufacturing plant specialising in the
design of power components utilising planar technology. Experience includes
high speed data transformers requiring high CMRR and low distortion through
to 10 kW power transformers with high current outputs.
